Description
Cella Molnar and Associates was the public involvement specialist for the City’s construction project that installed drainage improvements and sidewalks on the north side of Hanson Street from U.S. 41 east to Montclaire Avenue. The project began with a local Girl Scout who presented the idea of a new sidewalk to Fort Myers City Council. She noticed the need for the sidewalk during her daily commute to her elementary school. The City is proud to have brought her idea to life through the completion of this project.
CMA deliverables included a project web page on the City’s utilities website, newsletter and virtual ribbon cutting video, in lieu of a ribbon cutting event, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Notification flyers regarding water shut-offs, boil water/rescission notices, road closures, and shift notices and driveway/access changes were prepared and distributed to keep residents informed about construction. CMA also provided a 24-hour telephone hotline and project contact cards. CMA coordinated with the City of Fort Myers staff and officials, police, fire, EMS, solid waste services, school transportation, and affected property/business owners and local media during the construction and was key to the success of the project.
